Dr Mowat, has been brilliant since I seen him at Ninewells. He organised a colonoscopy for me. Once he received the results he wrote and explain the findings. He then organised a blood test. I then received a further letter from him. He has organised a further hospital visit in the future, to check on my progress. I am absolutely delighted in his professionalism and time he has taken in my well being.

Having had debilitating symptoms for many years the decision to arrange a consultation with Dr Mowat proved to be very beneficial. I felt relaxed and able to talk freely and after an examination, diagnosis and treatment was discussed
I now am symptom free and able to enjoy life again I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Mowat in the future

A very nice man he is (consultant) Mr mowat I felt safe in his hands I felt comfortable discussing my issues with him than anyone else I’ve seen at ninewells hospital and he shows compassion to his patients and work which is lovely to see he put my mind at ease. He’s doing a great job

Fantastic service by Dr Mowat. From my initial consultation, diagnosis and through to treatment of condition, the level of care provided was beyond any of my expectations.

First class. Had endoscopy and colonoscopy last year. Mr Mowatt talked me through both procedures before and after in detail. (Both came back all clear) told I had IBS and given medication. One year on still got IBS but dealing with it in various ways. I would have no hesitation contacting Mr Mowatt if the need arises.

I specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with stomach and bowel symptoms. For some, these symptoms can be very disabling and difficult to talk about. I aim to put patients at ease so they feel able to describe their problems with the goal of determining the most appropriate investigations and treatments as swiftly as possible. I have a special interest in irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, and the early detection of bowel cancer.
